Plan your party with the
birthday child - it adds to the fun and excitement! Think about what
food you want to provide, and how you will get it to the hall. |
| Find and engage your
entertainment before the venue - it may not be easy finding what you want on
the specific date you want and you should consider any alternative
dates for your event at this stage. A professional
entertainer will accept a booking with a temporary "Venue to be
advised" - it's the time, date and general location that's
needed at first. |

 |
If you are booking for December
or any national holidays you should start looking three months in
advance.
Ideally, when the school summer holiday
is over, is the time to start looking for your entertainer for any
event in late November or December.
|
| Don't be afraid to ask for
advice from your entertainer, after all they do this all the time! |

Book your venue - and allow time
for preparing before the party and cleaning up afterwards.
Make sure you have a contact name, address and phone number for who
ever is giving you the keys or opening the venue for you. On
several occasions I have attended events when nobody turned up to
open up, and the hostess had to make last minute arrangements! |
| Send the invitations about 2 to
3 weeks before the event. Make sure you request an RSVP and
provide your contact details.

On the day of the party, put
balloons outside the venue well before the party is due to start -
before the entertainer is due to arrive is also wise. |
| Use balloons for decoration, but
the worst thing you can do is leave balloons on the floor! |
 |
|

|
Keep a
contact list of the children at the party - as they arrive, ask the
parents to jot down the contact details on your list. Make
sure you have a pen! |
| Have fun! |
